Under the Sink challenge - end of week 1

The challenge was for 1 week.  Donna got her closet done.  It's empty and ready for a new use!
I have to admit that I didn't do much on my challenge on Wed, Thurs, or Friday.  I pulled out all the plates under there, antique dishes of my grandma's, and some wide mouth jars.  All were washed in the dishwasher.  I threw away a couple of small oil lamps, a deep fryer whose lid has been lost a long time, broken jars, the lids and the box.  Hmmm, I'm sure more got thrown away.

I do need to clarify that it's not just the space directly under the sink, but the cabinet that joins it.  There is no wall dividing the space, so mice were on everything.  The absolute worst part was directly under the sink.

Now the space and the shelves are mostly empty.  I still have a thermos to pull out and an electric griddle.

Saturday night I moved my clocks forward before I went to a friend's house for a few hours; that way I didn't really feel like I lost an hour when I got home.  My body just accepted the time.  But...I was feeling bad my challenge wasn't done and tomorrow was Sunday.  I checked my facebook the second I got home and what was waiting for me?  An excited message from Donna saying her closet was done!  Whoa!  I got some more work to do!!

Since Travis was at his brother's house, I turned on a peppy inspirational channel on pandora.com and went to work.  In less than a half hour or 6 songs, I'd emptied the dishwasher, started a load of laundry, and went to work on the cabinet.  That's when I washed the keepable jars, threw away the rest, the lids and the box, pulled out a bag of dishes bought for cheap at a yard sale YEARS ago to break to make stepping stones (which we did with some) and put those in the dishwasher, too.

I'm extending my challenge to this week.  I should be done in two or three days.  I have to figure out what to do with the electric griddle.  I threw the fryer away because we haven't deep fried anything in many many years, the lid is gone and they're now being made like crockpots with a removable insert to be washed.   I have to get down on my hands and knees and put some real elbow grease into it.  I also sprayed disinfectant.  Makes me feel better  :)

In the below trailer, skip to 55 seconds about the mouse dropping/raisin clip.
